چکیده

GRBlog is an on-line database providing researchers with quick access to all information reported in the GCN Circulars. Users of the GRBlog web site (grad40.as.utexas.edu/grblog.php) can search the circulars and produce afterglow light curve plots, or compile data tables. The site also offers advanced search capabilities to aide in statistical studies or comparative research. Most of the GCNs have already been entered into the GRBlog database, with the remainder to follow shortly. GRBlog: A Database for Gamma-Ray Bursts

Are Gamma-Ray Bursts Signals of Supermassive Black Hole Formation?

The formation of supermassive black holes through the gravitational collapse of supermassive objects (M ∼> 5× 104 M ) has been proposed as a source of cosmological γ-ray bursts. The major advantage of this model is that such collapses are far more energetic than stellar-remnant mergers. The major drawback of this idea is the severe baryon loading problem in one-dimensional models. We can show t...

Correlation between gamma ray bursts and gravitational wave bursts: the AURIGA complete data analysis

A widely accepted paradigm for astrophysical models of gamma ray bursts (GRB) prescribes a compact ‘central engine’ dominated by gravitational interactions, and therefore a concurrent emission of GRBs and gravitational wave bursts is likely to occur. Consequently, we have tested a novel and reliable method for searching for time correlation in the AURIGA and BATSE complete dataset. The analysis...

Red-shift Distribution of Gamma-ray Bursts and Their Progenitors

Gamma ray bursts have been divided into two classes, long-soft gamma ray burst and short-hard gamma ray burst according to the bimodal distribution in duration time. Due to the harder spectrum and the lack of afterglows of short-hard bursts in optical and radio observations, different progenitors for short-hard bursts and long-soft bursts have been suggested. Based on the X-ray afterglow observ...

Correlations of Prompt and Afterglow Emission in Swift Long and Short Gamma Ray Bursts

Correlation studies of prompt and afterglow emissions from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) between different spectral bands has been difficult to do in the past because few bursts had comprehensive and intercomparable afterglow measurements. In this paper1 we present a large and uniform data set for correlation analysis based on bursts detected by the Swift mission. For the first time, short and long b...
